Yessica completed her Masters of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Mercer University. She has worked with individuals (adolescents (15+) and adults), couples, and families through various issues such as anxiety, depression, life transitions, career changes, emotional dysregulation, communication, self-esteem, parenting, grief, etc. She is specializing in relational therapy- including our relationship with self, with parents, children, significant others, friends, coworkers, etc. She offers services in English and/or Spanish.
To guide clients to their goals and create deep-rooted change, she uses Attachment Theory, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Creative Expressive techniques, and is in advanced training for Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT).
Yessica has been married for 9 years, and has an inter-racial/biracial family; including two kids elementary school age.
She is of Christian faith, and provides support to any walks of life; regardless of spiritual beliefs. Clients choose whether they would like to have any kind of spiritual component added to their therapy or not.
Immigrating, as a child, to the US from Mexico was a tough and complicated life transition. It, among other experiences, shaped the empathy and yearning she has to help others.
Outside of therapy, Yessica enjoys audio books, movies, anime, game nights, and creating fun new experiences.
