This is the class that we only WISH we had had before having a baby. In this class, Monira and/or Taylor will literally share as much as we're able about the nitty-gritty details of birth, breastfeeding & caring for a newborn and yourselves postpartum!
Join us in the community room at reBlossom: 625 Barber St, Suite 160.
This rate is for one or two people: the birthing person and their birth partner (spouse, long-term partner, friend, parent, etc.). You only need to purchase one to attend with your partner.
If you don't have a birth partner, and wish you did, let us know. We might be able to help you find a birth doula! Email: support@athensparentwellbeing.org
Class Structure:
- 1st hour is Birth
- 2nd hour is Breastfeeding
- 3rd hour is Newborn Life
Is This Class for Me?
If you or your partner are expecting a child, YES! This 3-hour class (with two short breaks) is perfect for busy moms, dads & parents-to-be. It especially meets the needs of first-time parents, but could be helpful to those who are expecting another baby or are trying for a VBAC or did not breastfeed the first time.
Private, tailored classes available starting at $200, please email monira@reblossomathens.com to inquire.
What Will I Learn?
The class will focus on, but will not be limited to:
- Birth (what we wish we had known about it)
- Breastfeeding (how to start off on the right breast LOL!, pumping)
- Newborn Baby Life (babywearing, soothing, sleep)
- Postpartum (what's life like for parents after baby, PPD, anxiety, etc)
- Relationship With Your Partner (communication, learning how to parent, intimacy, roles)
Liability Waiver
If you've not signed our Liability Waiver before, please do so before you come.
More Details
Monira will teach you what birth is really like, what may or may not happen based on certain decisions you make, how to understand all the birth lingo about the natural progression of labor, interventions and more. We hope you will leave feeling empowered and at peace with your knowledge & decision making skills related to birth and beyond.
Next, we introduce breastfeeding and how to know when to seek help and what to look out for to make your life easier when you learn how to breastfeed with your newborn.
Lastly, we will delve into methods to soothe your newborn, what to expect of newborn sleep in the 4th trimester and how to wear your baby. We will also share resources for what to do if you find yourself with a Perinatal Mood & Anxiety Disorder postpartum and how to help yourself recover as best you can physically & mentally and where to find resources in our community to help you along your journey.
We also believe you gain so much strength and such a strong sense of community from meeting with other mamas and papas during this life stage and we hope this will be the start of many friendships to come.
