Carla Aranibar is a Professor at the University of Georgia in the Poultry Science Department, where her work in research and extension focuses on translating complex information into community-driven impact. While her professional expertise is rooted in academia, her commitment to Athens Parent Wellbeing (APW) grew from her own transition into motherhood with her 18-month-old son.
Having navigated the complexities of the postpartum period, Carla deeply resonates with APW’s mission to foster community and provide support for those who might otherwise feel isolated. She believes that a strong "village" is a parent’s most vital resource and is passionate about ensuring every caregiver in Northeast Georgia has access to that support system.
Carla serves on the Board of Directors with a focus on organizational sustainability. She applies her analytical expertise to support the operational stability and long-term health of the organization for APW to continue delivering its mission to families for years to come.Â
Outside of her work at UGA and her service to APW, Carla loves spending quality time with her family and her four pups. Â She enjoys working out, exploring the local food scene, or enjoying a reality TV binge.
