Ellen is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and has a great love for coming alongside people to help them move towards becoming the best version of themselves. Life can often feel messy and chaotic. Her passion is to help bring order out of chaos to facilitate growth and peace. Many of my clients present with concerns related to anxiety, depression, relationship issues, stressful life transitions and circumstances, perinatal mental health concerns, or they report feeling a little “off” and are seeking help to feel more like themselves again.
Ellayah Persons looks forward to helping you be your best self. Currently, she is pursuing her master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at LaGrange College. She received her bachelor’s degree in Psychology at the University of Alabama. Through coursework and training, she has gained knowledge of mindfulness techniques, coping strategies, and ways to assist you through perinatal stressors.
Although originally from South Dakota, I graduated from Colorado State University with a Master's degree in Social Work. I have been practicing in the Athens area since 2011. After 12 years of working at UGA, it was time to use my experience within the Athens community.
During my career, I have worked with individuals with cognitive and developmental disabilities, with traumatic brain injuries, problematic substance use, survivors of intimate partner violence, and survivors of trauma.Â
